Ipatiievsky monastery (Sviato-Troitskiy Ipatiievsky) – eastern ortodox friary in Kostromskaya eparchy. It is located in the city of Kostroma, in the arrow between rivers Volga and Kostroma. It was mentioned for the first time in the chronicle in 1432, but, probably, was founded much earlier. Friary’s territory consists of two parts: of the Old and New cities. Both regions are fenced with high stone walls. The Old city has a form of irregular pentagon. Compositional centre of the friary is a monumental five-domed Troitskiy cathedral and belfry.
